Hyppolite was one of the top high school football prospects in the nation. He was ranked the 45th-best player out of the state of Florida, 20th-best outside linebacker in the country, as well as being ranked a top 300 player in the nation by 247Sports.
Standing at 6-foot 225 pounds, he possesses good upper body strength for a player of his size. He had a 4.54 40-yard dash, 4.4 20-yard shuttle, and 31.5'' vertical jump. He brings necessary speed to a Terrapins' defense that was lacking fire power this past season. He can run stride-for-stride with any running back, has the potential to be a quality coverage linebacker, and has already proven at the high school level that he can be very effective in blitz packages.
From McArthur High School in Hollywood, Florida, he was one of the more sought-after prospects in the country due to his athleticism and tenacity in football. He chose Maryland over some of the best football programs in the nation such as Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Florida, Florida State, and LSU.
Though he passed on many top programs, Hyppolite knows that he would have a big role on the Terrapins' defense sooner than later.
Mike Locksley's football team got significantly better with the addition of Hyppolite and a growing list of signees during this early signing period day which you can follow here.
